What is EOS ?
EOSIO network operates as a smart contract platform and decentralized operating system. It is made for high scaling and fast decentralized applications through an autonomous corporation model. The smart contract platform works without transaction fees and claims to be capable of millions of transactions per second. EOS is software for a vertical and horizontal scaling blockchain architecture for decentralized applications.
With only 21 network nodes running the staking consensus algorithm, it is fast but quite centralized with a risk of being controlled or manipulated.
Transactions are free on EOSIO, but network users need to consider three EOS resources: CPU, network bandwidth and RAM. The first two resources (CPU and Network) requires an EOS staking, while RAM needs to be purchased. This process may be complicated and confusing for beginners.
A quite positive feature is the possiblity of getting EOS name addresses instead of long address codes.
